Church is:

Church: noun /ˈchərch/ 1:body of believers 2:all Christians 3:gathering of believers -Webster
Church: The whole body joined together and made strong by the meeting of each part. -New Testament
Church: Where two or three are gathered in my name I am there. -Jesus Christ

The Bible describes church both as all believers, and as any gathering of believers, anywhere, whether small or large. The purpose of the church is to strengthen the faith of believers through interaction with each other. I encourage you to find a church near you and make friends with people who believe like you do.

Is this church?

Like a church meeting in a building, the purpose of this gathering of believers is to strengthen each other's faith. Please don't let this web gathering take the place of meeting other believers in person, but yes, this is a place for us to interact and strengthen each other.

Who can participate?

The Bible includes only believers in "the church" but everyone is invited to participate in gatherings of believers and seekers. We invite you.

How does "church" work?

The better question may be, "How does THIS church work?" It is a little different isn't it?

First- No offering plates. Give at your neighborhood church. This church is free and only for on-line fellowship, sharing and counseling.

Second- This church is like a believer's chat room. All submissions appear immediately. Anyone can "listen," but you have to be logged in to submit questions or comments.

When you return "Back To Church" you will see three sections on the page.

  • Questions being asked and by whom.
  • Responses and discussion and by whom.
  • A list of current "registered" participants in church. There may also be unlisted visitors.

Because our "church" is new there will generally not be participants unless someone asks for a meeting. Then e-mail will be sent to "church members" with the date and time of the next "church meeting." Everyone is invited to participate if your schedule allows.

    Visitors are free to observe.

Members may participate. To "join Church" go "Back To Church" and click the "Join Church" option. You need not give your real name and no address is requested. IsGodAlive never sends unsolicited e-mail, nor will we give your e-mail to anyone. We respect and guard your privacy.

Remember, Jesus said, "Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there with you." If you have questions we may have a church of two, three or a dozen, but we will have church so that together as believers, we can help get the answers to our questions.

It goes without saying but I'll say it anyway. Any use of foul, hateful, or otherwise insulting language will result in "excommunication." Sorry, I just had to put it that way. Seriously, if a church "member" or "visitor" breeches this rule that login will become disqualified from further participation.
